That's a great quote I saw the other day. Pure gold for those who lean toward the "overachiever" side. I think it's about letting go of control, learning to live in the moment. Relaxing and letting things happen. A pretty peaceful prospect. (Say that three times.)

Blocking in
This is another in-progress painting, and a subject that I have painted twice before. I love this house, and how it really reflects what old Rehoboth is. This is, again, all done in palette knife and is just the initial blocking-in of colors. It's a 16 x 20. Will post updates as they happen, as I enter my no-sleep zone for the next few weeks.

Our Town
People are meant to go through life two by two. ’Tain’t natural to be lonesome.

Lots of good, thought-provoking quotes in that play, most delivered by the stage manager. Think I will need to read the book.

Palette knives
Yesterday's Post Secret fave. I love the picture and the typewriter look to the text. That's the only connection. I love my boss.
I have been working with a palette knife on a few new paintings, and really enjoying myself. If you don't know what a palette knife is, it looks like this:
It's pretty impossible to be fussy when painting with a knife. It lends itself to chunky, impasto effects, which makes the painting a bit impressionistic and painterly. Having fun with it.

I thought it was spelled with two t's.
Hmm. Is this for real? He is logical, intelligent, well-spoken, AND makes complete sense about all this.

Choices
I'm posting this, primarily for a quote - "The choices you make, or don't make, become you. But which you?
We make choices all the time, and they certainly do shape us.

Guernica
This animation melds Picasso's "Guernica" painting with paintings by Salvador Dali, Van Gogh and Escher. Fascinating stuff. Haley told me about - and though it was nightmare-inducing for her, it was deemed "very cool" by me. They're working on an art project based on "Guernica" in her art class. I wholeheartedly approve.
