Please let this weather break.

A little further along. Two steps forward, three steps back. The clouds are going to be a challenge, but they will get there in time. More blending in sky needed, and bay needs to be added.

This weather, OMG. Snow. Then bitter cold. Then gale winds. Then 2 days of pouring rain. JEEEEEEEZUS. I have never heard so many people say they're depressed. It has me thinking more and more of getting the * out of here and moving south. You know, to the massive hurricanes.

Beginning the clouds

Starting (just starting...) the clouds.

In Progress

And it's on to the next. Another will be started tonight.

This is a sunset at Lewes Beach IN PROGRESS. The entire top portion of the painting will be clouds that are underlit by the sun, and they will take up quite a bit of time. The "scrubbed in" dark blue paint at the top will become the clouds, for the most part. Update to come, if the paint is dry enough to work on tonight.

Snow days are awesome.

When work is closed. Today gave me a whole day in the studio, and I was able to finish these two, start another and work on a rain barrel for a competition in Dover. FUN. I wish "Lost" photographed better. No matter what I do, I can't make it look quite like it does in reality. I changed the trees and clouds, softened everything, and like it much better. Though, it's very difficult to see without zooming in.

This one, "Retreat" photographed better, but still not great. I really had fun with this one, with all that deep blue and green. On to the next!

Yama

If you fall for the part
that's brooding and dark
you'll never discover the rest of my heart.

And I want you to see
that there's so much to see
right before I declare

You never knew me.

a little further

with tweaking (not twerking) in progress. Now to lighten some lines, straighten others, blur some things in the distance and continue to refine overall. This is the tedious part, but the part that brings everything together. Working title, "Retreat."

In Like a Lion

March is here. Always a long month, mostly unpredictable bi-polar weather. Came in with a snowstorm, showed off today with some temps in the fifties and plenty of sun. Nice. Unfortunately I worked and napped through most of it (not at the same time, thankfully.)

I did get a little more painting in. Worked in a Naples Yellow glaze over the "Lost" piece which gave it a little more of a glow. And did a little more on this one...untitled as of yet.

I did get a nice little break this winter. Took a trip to Naples and thawed out. Jet skiing, paddle boarding, fishing, boating, beaching and relaxing. What a beautiful place. The fishing is unbelievable.
