Plein Air Brandywine Valley

What a great event! I've spent the last 3 days painting in Greenville, DE, Chadds Ford PA, and West Chester PA. The exhibition/sale/judging will be at Winterthur, tomorrow night - October 24, 7 p.m. A portion of the sales benefit The Children's Beach House.  We were given certain locations to paint, including Janssen's Market, Haskell's Farm, Marshall Square Park and various private homes.

Wednesday was VERY cold and VERY rainy. Thankfully I brought my plein air umbrella.

Sold - at Taste for Art

These three sold on Saturday, plus another plein air from Lancaster, that I can't seem to find a photo of. The Beach Crossing on the bottom had some more work done to it after this photo was taken. The color was toned down a bit, but can't seem to find a final photo of that one either. Anyway, great night!

Rainy Day Plein Air

I have painted plein air in the rain before, but have forgotten how fun it can be. When the sky is rolling around and the clouds change from white to gray to violet to an almost brown/violet with upcoming rain, it can make for some pretty exciting painting. Saturday was this kind of morning. Some rain, some wind, and lots of amazing clouds. It was hard to keep up with the changing colors. And it makes painting a plain blue sky pretty dull.

This is Gordon's Pond, Rehoboth.
