suhhhhleeeeep

OMG, I'm exhausted. 2 days and counting until moving day. My mom has been helping me these past few days, and she's gooood. She's a clean freak, so this place will be squeaky clean soon. Thanks Mom.

I've been waking up early, not intentionally really, just waking up like DING!time to get up and do the million things on the list! Been staying up too late too, I think I'm just overtired like a kid gets. Pretty soon I'll have a tantrum and fall asleep with my face in a dinner plate.

Another painting sold out of Cafe Sole this weekend - that place rocks! Sold a print out of the studio too. Yay summer visitors!

Memorial Day

Thank you to all the service men and women who are currently serving and who have served in the past. We're a great country because of you!

So, this is usually a "holiday" weekend, yeah? Not so much! BUT, the house is nearly packed up. My studio is getting dusty because the days have been full of packing boxes and hauling them up and down stairs. (A great workout though, I highly recommend it.) I know I'm going to be excited about next week as soon as I have a second to think about it.

After the move, the next two weeks will be spent cranking out the last of the mini's for the June 13 opening. (Well, I guess I'll be unpacking too - but that will be a second priority after the necessities are unpacked.

I have just finished the table for the Children's Beach House. When I get my pc back from the shop, I'll post a picture. Did a tribute to Picasso - "DeMoiselles D'avignon". If you've been to my house, you know I have a 7'x7' of the same painting that I did for a show a few years back. I really love it - the Picasso, that is, and it's so much fun to reproduce.

Music - I've discovered Landon Pigg and love, love, love him. Ray LaMontagne too. Great stuff.

Anyone know what a weenis is? Sounds bad, but it's the loose skin on your elbow. Pinch it as hard as you can - you can't feel anything there. To my weenis - wherever you are, I miss you.

Moving and stuff.

Here's a few new mini's. Only 30 more to go! (Ugh!)

And here's Camp Rehoboth - complete and for sale!

Our names are now on our studio windows. Nice!

Haley before her choir concert. Beautiful girl.

Michelle Aquillino, selling her custom-made bags outside the studio space. She's a textile artist and she makes beautiful things!

The new digs! Cute, cute, cute.

Coffee

Thank goodness for coffee. Since naps have become an impossibility lately, coffee has become an absolute necessity. Someone just needs to invent some kind of drip bag that distributes the caffeine when it senses it's needed. I'm now looking at the last month as a nightmare and the current month as a game show, like I'm a contestant running around the stage trying to complete each task while an enormous clock clicks off the seconds behind me. FIVE....FOUR....THREE....aaaaaaahhhhhhh. Instead of freaking out though, I feel pretty calm. Maybe it's shock. :)

Stay posted for news of two upcoming shows - one of them solo!

Onward and upward.

I hear that "clicking" noise again.

Sold a painting out of Cafe Sole last night. Good to see the summer visitors arriving (and buying art). It's become very difficult to get a lot of painting done with trying to pack up this house and prepare to move to the new house. The list seems never-ending. As soon as one item gets crossed off, five more get added. The good thing about all that is, I don't get to dwell on things that can keep me up at night. Puzzles that I can't figure out - people that have disappointed me and actions that I cannot understand. So, better to keep my mind occupied, yeah? Yeah.

I have a favorite quote, which I've actually considered (lately) having tatooed:

Just trust yourself. Then you will know how to live. - Goethe

So true - listen to that little voice inside of your head. She usually knows what she's talking about!

Transitions and rain

Sometimes life happens in metaphors, ever notice that? Like God is messing with us all to see if we catch it. I love it when things start clicking into place and it feels like you are finally standing, facing the right direction. Kind of like finally getting the combination on a difficult lock. Click...click....CLICK.

A good week. Do need to get mini's cranked out after stalling a bit. Tomorrow looks like a good day for that, when I get finished with the other 101 things on the list. Interesting, intriguing, fascinating life.

Life - full speed ahead

Being busy is good. Being crazy busy is just....well, crazy. I feel like I have 100 balls in the air, and I can't even juggle three. Keeps life interesting.

I'll be taking some new pics in the next couple of days, and adding some new shots to the website as well. Keep your chin up in all this rain, the sun will shine again!

I'm not a country music fan....

but there was just something about this one that I liked.

Bonnie

A great song performed by Bonnie Rait.
