For you I bleed myself dry.

Great lyric - Coldplay, when they were good.

So, getting down to the final few paintings. Of course, now I feel like I'm drying up a little - hence the lyric...the last two I have been working on are just, well....eh. Fortunately I found a bunch of stretcher bars and some extra canvas laying around the basement, so I stretched 3 and got them primed. SO, this means a fresh start, which is almost always good.

Unfortunately I still have to photograph all the finished pieces to send to the gallery. I can take photos to a certain degree, but don't know how to (really) take a good shot of a painting without getting a flash reflection or shine off the liquin in the painting. I think I'm going to have to take them in daylight, which means lining them up out on the deck. So professional, huh?

Two commissions have come in in the midst of all this - so it looks like steady painting until the end of August at least. Could be worse. And right now I'm looking at a big ol' rocking chair in the middle of my living room that I'm painting for the Children's Beach House. I'm making it a Klimt chair - Gustav Klimt - google him to see his style. So many slats on the rocker, I just couldn't figure out what to do other than something kind of abstract. I was watching Fried Green Tomatoes when I started painting it, and now I have that mental connection everytime I look at the chair. Tawanda!

So, the question now is, do I just play on the computer or start painting the rocker? Painting the rocker, of course is the right answer. Being a sloth is what my mind is suggesting. Being a sloth with a glass of wine is really the whole suggestion. But I'm trying to be a good girl and not drink wine during the week, which helps my running. See what it's like to live in my head? Very confusing, very noisy and not all that fun.
