Here's Hollyhocks after a couple more hours. Still a ways to go.

I LOVE hollyhocks. These look like they must be incredible - that one is so tall! I tried growing black hollyhocks once, but I couldn't get them to stand up, even with stakes. There are some gorgeous ones near here in front of an old historic barn. They are show-stoppers. I should go take a picture!
